Swiss Mondaine pigeons were introduced to the United States by H M Samson in 1891. Swiss Mondaine have combined utility and exhibition qualities based upon their overall beauty and the size and number of squabs that they are able to produce.

They are hearty birds and excellent parents and provide ample feed to their young.  Squabs will weigh around one and one half pounds at 30 days of age.  Swiss Mondaine will weigh around two pounds at maturity.
